Dr Sian Morgan


Sian has two decades of practitioner experience in reforming fisheries and aquaculture systems in 20+ national jurisdictions. Prior to joining OSA, Sian led the Fisheries & Markets strategy at the Waitt Institute and SCS Global Services Seafood Group. She served on the Aquaculture Stewardship Council Technical Advisory group for a decade, and was a member of the MSC stakeholder Council. Dr. Morgan helped Fair Trade USA to design the Capture Fisheries Standard and built SeaChoice, a Canadian national sustainable seafood program.


She has also provided regular consulting to philanthropists, WWF, and CITES, among others. Sian holds a PhD in fisheries ecology from McGill University, Canada, working on Asian demersal fisheries. Sian is an experienced auditor, qualified as an MSC Team Leader, ISO 19011-2018 accredited and trained to audit SA8000, MSC CoC, ASC standards, and the Fair Trade Capture Fisheries standard.
